X-Men Origins: Wolverine

1. This movie was entertaining. I enjoyed it. I'm glad Gambit finally make it into a movie, albeit with a tiny role that really served only one purpose - leading Logan to the island. Can't wait for a potential Gambit movie (there will be a Deadpool movie, and Gambit should be at least equally entertaining), though hopefully the holes present in this film will be absent in it.2. Wolverine was as should be expected as a character. Logan was similar to the previous X-Men films, considering that he was a different person before getting shot with the Adamantium bullets. I'm not sure if in the comics he was indeed shot or not. But it seems like his natural disposition and lack of trust of others are intact. They don't go over the reasons behind him changing his name from James to Logan, but it is understood that he was trying to create a new life.

3. Victor Creed and Logan are NOT brothers. This was irritatingly mishandled in the movie. I get that they were playing to the whole emotional aspect of feeling for them as brothers. Victor and Logan don't really meet until they are in the Canadian Rockies and Victor attacks Kayla because he is jealous of Logan. Just an interesting difference.

4. Wade (Ryan Reynolds) is the real Deadpool. Weapon XI is a different character completely. So the combination of these two is ridiculous - plus, Logan says "Wade, is that you?" implying that Weapon XI is Deadpool - they made this believable, but it should be noted that Reynolds did not play Weapon XI (it was some random guy named Scott Adkins). Deadpool is an awesome character that they were close to portraying with Wade in the beginning, but then they combined them at the end. This is silly. Too bad.

5. They wasted time on some things, and left out some things that could have been included that are more important.
5a. There is no need for Cyclops to get that much screen time when his only purpose was to have his eye powers stolen (we didn't get 15 minutes for every other young mutant who was kidnapped.)
5b. Other characters could/should have been introduced/shown as an homage to the "films to come" like Colossus, Storm, etc. instead of just a random group of mutants that nobody knows or cares about. They might have been cool, I'm not really complaining about their inclusion, just saying they could have improved this aspect.
5c. Kayla (who is Silver Fox but they don't develop her that way) and Emma Frost are not sisters. And Emma is supposed to be telepathic yet she relies on Scott to hear Charles' voice to know which direction to turn - which makes sense, but she showed no signs of telepathy.

6. Special effects were mostly pretty nice. Lone exceptions are Wolverine's claws - in the bathroom when he's playing with them they look like shiny plastic strap-on toys; Emma's skin looks kinda fake; and Charles' makeup is TERRIBLE. I'm assuming (though I can't prove it) it's Patrick Stewart, but instead of adding an inch of makeup to his old mug, just cast a youngster to play the role.

7. The Team X members were nice, but what a waste of likability. John Wraith was awesome, then Victor killed him to steal his teleportation powers for Weapon XI. Agent Zero is awesome, but we end up not liking him because he and Logan clash. The Blob is pointless and Bolt dies off too soon. Wade was already discussed, but how cool did they make his scene after getting off the elevator? What a waste of some good cameos by these popular actors...

8. Instead of wasting time on Scott (Cyclops) and his capture, we could have seen a pretty rad flashback of Remy LeBeux (Gambit) escaping the Weapon X island facility. That would have been a) great character introduction; b) great action; and c) just plain, flat out awesome.

9.If Emma Frost's skin is made of diamonds, she should have been able to cut her way out of her holding cell (she could repel bullets for crying out loud!)

10. The scene where Logan gets bonded with Adamantium, while I understand covering him (wouldn't want to give any old ladies a heart attack) I find it critically pivotal that his pelvic region get plated with the super metal. Also the fact that he is able to wiggle and move - we're dealing with extreme pain and needles... PAIN AND NEEDLES!

11. When Logan visits Kayla at her school and they show her seeing the kids off, when the camera goes to him I'm pretty sure that you can hear a student in the background say "Bye Silver Fox" - I need to get this confirmed!!!
